How To Install Twitter Updates On Your Blog

Mar 29, 2009

Adding your twitter updates to your blog is a great way to introduce your twitter activity to new and current readers. While you need to be careful to not dilute your content, I feel it can still be implemented tastefully. Look at it as a way to have your status update to your readers. I have chosen to show my latest two tweets on my blog. I may change that number however, it seems to be a decent number. One tweet leaves it too empty and any more than two or three, well, your reader can just go follow you on twitter if they want to read that many. Two just seems to be a good small number so that you don't refocus your websites purpose to being a twitter promoter. If that is your purpose feel free to get wild with it.

Installing the code is quick and easy. Visit
http://twitter.com/badges, which requires a login, and select your blog type. Copy the code and then setup a new widget, new section, new gadget, depending on your type of blog platform and paste that tid bit of code in there. It's quick and simple. Once you have that step published, you should see a group of your latest twitter updates.

The default style may be a bit rough so toss in a nice dashed bottom-border to make it look similar to the twitter style on twitter.com.

#twitter_div li {font-size:13px; border-bottom:1px dashed #ccc; margin:5px;}
